Where we actually have data
This page is generated straight from the jurisdiction registry the product runs on, so it cannot say we cover somewhere we do not.
This list is the whole of it
We read 8 jurisdictions and nowhere else. We do not cover all of San Diego County, and "north" and "south" on this site mean the two halves of the City of San Diego, split at I-8 — not North County and South County. If your work is somewhere not named on this page, the feed has nothing for you today; please do not subscribe. We would rather lose the $39 than refund it.
The two tiers
Tier A · Owner-pulled
Filtered to jobs an individual filed at their own property, with no contractor named on the permit.
City of San Diego, Vista and Unincorporated San Diego County — the only jurisdictions that publish who pulled the permit, so they are the only places this claim is available at any price.
Tier B · All new permits
Every new permit filed in the city. These cities do not publish who pulled the permit, so nothing here is ever described as owner-pulled — you get the fresh filing and the address, and you find out who is on it yourself.
Carlsbad, Santee, El Cajon, Imperial Beach and Chula Vista. Most are read straight from their own permit portal — they publish no open-data feed at all, which is why most permit-data products cannot see them.
Live jurisdictions
East County
East County is where these cities sit — not a claim to cover it. Santee and El Cajon are the only part of East County we read.
| Jurisdiction | What we can claim | Permits · last 7 days |
|---|---|---|
| Santee | Tier B · All new permits | 3 |

Screened, not live: La Mesa. It is not in the feed and is not sold.
North San Diego
City of San Diego, north of I-8
| Jurisdiction | What we can claim | Permits · last 7 days |
|---|---|---|
| City of San Diego | Tier A · Owner-pulled | 44 |

By trade, City of San Diego
| Trade | North of I-8 | I-8 and south | Whole city | Sold? |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Electrical | 13 | 12 | 25 | Yes |
| Remodel / GC | 11 | 4 | 15 | Yes |
| Plumbing | 10 | 5 | 15 | Yes |
| HVAC | 6 | 6 | 12 | Yes |
| Solar | 3 | 3 | 6 | Too thin to sell |
| Roofing | 1 | 3 | 4 | Too thin to sell |
Owner-pulled job sites in the last 7 days. Solar and roofing are not sold at any price — 6 and 4 a week citywide is not a product, and selling it would book a refund. The free sample pages for those trades stay up.
Screened and rejected, or not built yet
| Jurisdiction | Platform | Status |
|---|---|---|
| La Mesa | maintstar | Runs MaintStar, not EnerGov — needs its own probe and possibly its own adapter. |
The screening test before any city is added: does the public record name who pulled the permit? The answer decides the tier, and the tier decides what we are allowed to say.
Every figure on this page is a real count from the last 7 days, measured 2026-08-06. Precomputed and stored — this page does not call a permit API when you load it. Numbers move week to week; we publish the ones we measured, never a projection.
