Groundwork vs Permit Ledger
Same price, different product. Their $39 tier is a statistics dashboard. Ours is a list of job sites with addresses.
Permit Ledger — $39/mo
- Total permits, week-over-week trend, top permit type — city by city
- No individual addresses in the $39 tier. Not on the free page, not behind the paywall
- Top ZIP codes and most-active contractors — i.e. who is already winning the work
- 306 cities live, all sourced from official open-data feeds
- Their data page states that no honest permit product can include phone numbers
Groundwork — $39/mo
- Individual job sites: address, scope, valuation and the permit number
- A map link and a street-view link on every lead
- Owner-pulled filter in the City of San Diego — an individual, one property, no contractor named on the permit
- Jurisdictions with no open-data feed at all, read straight from their own permit portal
- Parcel numbers are on the leads, and that is the join we use for owner contact
The short version
A contractor cannot bid "top ZIP codes". Counts and trend lines are market intel; they tell you which part of town is busy, not whose door to knock on. If you want the dashboard, theirs is good and it covers 306 cities. If you want the jobs, you need the addresses, and at $39 they do not sell them.
What you get here for $39
- Up to 15 job sites every Tuesday — about $2.60 a lead.
- Address, scope, valuation, permit number, map, street view on each one.
- ${list(tierNames('A').map(escapeHtml))} leads are owner-pulled: an individual, one property, no contractor named on the permit.
- ${list(tierNames('B').map(escapeHtml))} are all new permits — those cities do not publish who pulled the permit, so we never call them owner-pulled.
- 77 qualified job sites a week citywide as of 2026-08-06. Real count, 7-day window.
